Vice Minister Zhang Zhigang Met With Crown Prince Philippe of Belgium

On Nov. 22, Vice Minister of Commerce Zhang Zhigang met with Crown Prince Philippe of Belgium and Minister of Economic Affairs and his parties.

Zhang Zhigang highly appraised the bilateral trade and economic cooperation between China and Belgium. He said that Premier Wen Jiabao's successful visit to Belgium last May further pushed the all-round cooperation in various fields in both countries.

Crown Prince Philippe expressed that this was his third visit to China with big trade and economic representative groups, aiming at enhancing relations between China and Belgium, promoting exchanges and cooperation between enterprises in the two nations.

Both sides also exchanged viewpoints on some specific issues like reinforcing cooperation among middle and small sized enterprises in the two countries.

After the meeting, Zhang Zhigang and guests from Belgium attended the opening ceremony for "Special Seminars" and delivered speeches. Zhang Zhigang in his speech briefly introduced China's economic development and tendency, highly appraised the trade and economic relations between China and Belgium and praised Philippe's visit and his contribution to pushing bilateral trade and economic cooperation. He hoped that entrepreneurs in the two countries could make full use of the opportunity provided by the Seminars , communicate and discuss and make an active and fruitful achievement.
